Hello my fellow humans.

I am writing this from my space-pod orbiting the earth at a distance of 3 metres.

how small you all look from up here. like ants. oh. those are ants....

anyway, soon I'll be earthbound once more. I will walk amongst the blinkered masses, quietly bearing the combined gift and curse of all that I have seen, all that I have been......the massive quietude of the cosmos, the implacable roar of our sun, and of course, Uranus.

Words&Music is being released at long last on June 15th 2009 on Decca. 6 lovely, gentle new recordings of old songs, 3 new songs, a Paul Simon cover and 2 special re-workings featuring Other Artists. It was designed to bring solace. It works for me.... get it here.

Also my first UK tour for bloomin' years. It will be intimate and splendid . The brilliant KasierCartel will be coming over from Brooklyn to help out, and the also brilliant Foreign Slippers will be joining in too.I can't wait to see you and sing for you. I shall be taking requests.

Brazilian Girls and David Byrne Join Forces | Brazilian Girls | News

The Grammy-nominated Brazilian Girls have teamed-up with the legendary David Byrne to release an English-language version of the song “Losing Myself.” Byrne duets with lead singer Sabina Sciubba on the new version of the song, available exclusively through iTunes on March 24.

Sciubba explains that the song is “a journey through New York City’s subway, streets, crowds, nights and clubs. Everywhere you go, you leave something behind: your scarf, a shoe, a memory, your money, an ear, your friends, your head ...until you end up being light as a feather and you have nothing left but your freedom."

The original version of the song, recorded in French, was released last summer on the Brazilian Girls latest full length album New York City (Verve Forecast). The Grammy-nominated album was applauded by critics, with the New York Times declaring it “a benediction, or a prayer, from an analog limbo,” and Variety proclaiming them “the only dance band that matters.”
